Turn a WebP into a format your upload accepts

An image may open in your browser yet be rejected by an older editor or an upload form. Converting WebP to JPG can solve that format mismatch. It will not necessarily make the file smaller, and transparent areas need a solid background.

  1. Confirm the destination asks for JPG

Choose a static WebP image. Changing the filename extension alone does not convert it; the image needs to be encoded in the new format.

  2. Check quality and transparent areas

Transparent areas are filled with white when converted to JPG. Adjust quality with attention to text, faces and fine outlines; keep WebP or use PNG if transparency matters.

  3. Check the result in the destination

Download the JPG and try it in the intended editor or form. Check size and dimensions too: accepting the format does not mean every other upload requirement is met.
