Prepare a square image without stretching it

The 1080×1080 preset sets square bounds, but it preserves the shape of your source. A rectangular image will still be rectangular unless you crop it first. This distinction matters for product cards and other placements that need a genuinely square picture.

  1. Check the shape of your original

A 2400×1600 image fits to 1080×720 with aspect ratio locked. If that meets your needs, you can keep the whole picture without cropping.

  2. Crop first for a square result

Use a 1:1 crop and position it around the product or person, then apply this preset. Keep enough space around the subject so the square does not cut off useful details.

  3. Check the final pixel dimensions

A square source smaller than 1080 pixels stays smaller with no-enlargement enabled. You can allow enlargement, but it will not recreate detail missing from a small original.
