How we process your filesCheck what travels with the picture
A photo can carry camera details, dates or GPS coordinates beyond what you see in the picture. This tool creates a newly encoded image without copying embedded EXIF, GPS, IPTC or XMP blocks. Not every photo contains these fields, and re-encoding can change its appearance or size.
Keep a separate original
Choose the image you plan to share and save your source elsewhere. Embedded information can be useful for organizing your private collection even when you do not want to publish it.
Review the newly encoded image
Process the file and compare colours, orientation and detail. This is not a byte-only metadata edit, so do not assume every pixel will remain identical.
Verify the file you will actually share
Use a metadata viewer when a particular field must be absent. Faces, addresses printed in the image and descriptive filenames remain separate concerns; removing metadata does not hide them.
Frequently asked questions about Remove Image Metadata
Learn what the settings do and what to check in the finished image.
Which data is removed?
The encoder does not copy embedded EXIF, GPS, IPTC, or XMP blocks. Verify specific fields in the downloaded file if you need a particular metadata policy.
Does this only edit metadata bytes?
No. It re-encodes the image, so pixels and file size can change. It also cannot remove information visible in the picture itself.
