How we process your filesKeep the subject and leave out the distractions
Cropping changes what is included in the picture. Use it to remove empty space, bring a product closer or prepare a different shape. Resizing comes afterwards if you also need specific pixel dimensions; cropping alone does not set a file size limit.
Choose the shape before the size
Use a free crop or a ratio such as 1:1 or 16:9. Match the intended placement rather than choosing a ratio just because it is common.
Position the crop around your subject
Move the crop area and leave enough room around faces, labels or product edges. When working with several images, inspect their framing individually.
Review what will be left out
Check the preview before downloading. Keep the original: a cropped export cannot recover the removed area. Use the resizer next if you need an exact output size.

Does cropping preserve the original file?
The original file on your device is unchanged. The output is re-encoded, so quality and file size may change.
