Fit a picture within a widescreen space

This preset fits an image within 1920×1080 pixels while preserving its shape. It does not automatically crop a portrait photo into a widescreen picture or add a surrounding canvas. Use it when these are maximum dimensions, or crop first when you need to fill the whole frame.

  1. Decide whether to fit or fill

A 2400×1600 source fits to 1620×1080 with aspect ratio locked. That is expected: both output dimensions remain within the selected bounds.

  2. Crop to 16:9 when a full frame is needed

Choose the important area with the crop tool first, then resize the cropped image. Avoid turning off aspect ratio just to force a mismatched picture into the frame.

  3. Check smaller sources and file size

Smaller images are not enlarged by default. Review the actual dimensions, and use compression separately if the destination also imposes a file size limit.
