Photos, graphics, and transparency
JPG is often practical for photographs. PNG can suit sharp text, screenshots, and transparent graphics. WebP provides another option for supported destinations, including transparent images.
A format is not always the best choice just because it is newer. Test a few representative images and compare their actual output rather than relying on a universal compression percentage.
Support is more than browser display
Your browser may display an image format that an upload form or editor does not accept. Check the whole publishing workflow, including any processing done by the destination.
Filecozy’s tools work with JPG, PNG, and WebP. Other formats, such as AVIF or SVG, can be relevant to a website but are not supported inputs or promised outputs in these tools.
Check the image in its intended place
Resize large images to suit their intended display, then compare compression settings. Check text, faces, gradients, and transparent edges against the page background.
Keep originals and record the settings that work for your project. Faster image delivery depends on dimensions, file size, page layout, and hosting as well as format choice.
